“Money” by Alex O’aiza

Dallas based indie singer/songwriter Alex O’Aiza comes to us with a politically charged indie rock gem in his latest, “Money”. With this track, the young artist takes a jab at politicians and the current state of the government as it prioritizes the finances of their own pockets instead of the people they serve. It’s a track that hits right on the current chord that most Americans are thinking about, whether you are one party or the other. Sadly it is becoming more than clear enough that there is a current self-serving approach in the people that are supposed to represent us. The track is perfectly crafted in every way and gives us a much needed fine dose of indie rock filled with the raw reality we live in. So dive into the soundscape Alex has created and enjoy this must listen gem.

Money was co-written with my close friend Austin Shawn in Nashville and was the start of a new sound and new direction for my artistry. It was born out of a political debate between Austin, his girlfriend, and myself, where we ended up wrapping up the conversation with the conclusion that the current American government prioritizes big business over the lives of their own constituents. The next morning when Austin randomly stumbled upon a moody bassline, the ideas for lyrics started exploding out of our heads. In the end, “Money” became a song about self-awareness. Self-awareness in identifying the people pretending to be good for you, promising to be there for you – when in reality they have their own self-serving agenda that benefits them at your disposal. Very much like the current U.S government.Alex O'Aiza
