“ITYK” by Keaton Dekker

UK indie singer/songwriter Keaton Dekker comes to us with the honest and refreshing exploration of life and relationships that is “ITYK” (I thought you knew). With this soothing and down to earth blend of melodies and lyrics he gives life to a soundscape that explores the at times harsh reality of friendship and other relationships. He embraces the fact that at times you don’t really know people because sometimes being open and honest is not really in the table for you, them or both. It’s not a song that aims to point the finger but to actually embrace the fact that as much as we would like it, there’s always going to be a surprise and not always a happy one. So listen and connect to an amazing contemporary must listen musical creation. Enjoy!

I made ‘ITYK’ in my room whilst honestly wanting to be dancing by the tide at sunset. I wanted to create pure warmth with sound, like when sun rays hit the surface of your face. The song addresses miscommunication, and how it can create a huge misjudgement of character. The twists and turns of being in a friendship that isn’t 100% open and honest.” – Keaton Dekker
