“Birthday Blues” by Aaron Taos

New York-based indie singer/songwriter Aaron Taos comes to us with a gem from his ‘Birthday Boy’ Lp, say hello to “Birthday Blues”. With this introspective track, he explores the ups and downs of growing up and seeing life pass you by as you wonder where you’re at and where you are going. Personally, everything about this song is relatable and easy to connect with as we have all found ourselves asking those questions and thinking those thoughts. Whether you learn from them and move on, that’s an entirely different thing since that is a personal choice. He moved past it and saw that his talent is capable of more and through that frustration found hope and an extra dose of energy to push forward. So get inspired by this mesmerizing soundscape and rediscover your passion as he did. Enjoy!

“The concept of “Birthday Boy” came about on my birthday last summer. I was sitting alone on a bench in the park by my apartment in Brooklyn, feeling pretty down about where my career and life was. Another year had gone by and all these things that I wanted to accomplish just hadn’t come to fruition. Through the frustration, I was inspired to be more honest in my writing and take the reins again producing my own tracks – something I hadn’t done since being introduced to the session/cowriting landscape of the music industry following the release of my first EP in 2015. That same day I wrote the first track on the album, “Birthday Blues.” I hunkered down and spent the rest of the summer writing and recording at the house I grew up in Connecticut, away from the distractions of the city. In the process, I rediscovered that love and creativity that initially drew to recording and writing my own music in the first place.”
