Berlin-based indie singer/songwriter ILIRA steps away from the so-called societal norms of what women are supposed to be with “Do it yourself”. With this amazing catchy and playful track, she delivers lyrics that empower and inspire the women of today as she invites them all to be their own saviors, their own knights in shining armor and to be in love with themselves before anyone else. I honestly loved the track, but with the visuals, it gained an extra layer about it that makes sure the message lands clearly and with more passion and strength than before. This is a song that when I get the pleasure of becoming a father, I would share with my daughter as I don’t want her to wait for prince charming or the beast for the beauty she will be, but instead be happy and be proud of herself always without the need of anyone else’s validation.
