2016 You are looking good, with amazing music coming from the mainstream department and the indie field giving the chance to some truly unique musicians with stories and music worth listening. The latest to come out with something amazing this year, are the indie pop duo Sleeping Lion and their single “Handful”. This talented pair of musicians, Nate Flaks and Noah Longworth McGuire, met while being roommates in the Spring of 2015 and from that point on the creativity has been running wild between them.
While Nate was living in Dobbs Ferry, NY and Noah was living in Rome, Italy for the summer of 2015 the guys wrote and produced their first single “You made me” among other songs all thanks to the magic of the internet and Skype. Then in the fall of 2015, the guys came together and recorded in Quincy, Massachusetts. With their following singles, “Rug” and “Generous” their reach went beyond Boston where their first single had lit a fire of wanting more from the locals.
After an exciting debut EP in ‘Patient Creature’ which was released in July of 2016, the guys continued working and have set in front of another gem, the song you’ve been listening – “Handful”. Listen to the pleasant surprise they are, enjoy the refreshing sound of this duo that reminds us musically of indie pop bands that are making waves like LANY and The 1975.
